AFFIRMATION RULES (continued) Don't miss a thing! Get the first two affirmation rules, sign up for newsletter here>>. Rule 1 - Personalize. The affirmation should include "me", "I" or your name. "I am feeling good because I exercise daily." (Remember, the only person you can change is yourself.) Rule 3 - Use Simple Words. Write a suggestion as if talking to an intelligent 10-year-old. Rule 4 - Be Accurate. When it is appropriate, put in numbers e.g. exact weight you want to be, or the exact amount of money you are going to save. Rule 5 - Be Detailed. Your affirmation should include all aspects of your goal. Rule 6 - Be Specific. Short affirmations have a stronger impact on the mind than long ones. Keep them specific and to the point. If need be, have two or three affirmations around the one topic. Rule 7 - Be Realistic. If you earn $3,000 a month and want an affirmation for saving money, be realistic in the amount. Don't set yourself up for failure. Rule 8 - Use Present Tense. Write your affirmation as if they are occurring NOW. "I have a wonderful position", NOT "I will have a wonderful position." Rule 9 - Be Positive. Couch all affirmations in the affirmative. "I love breathing fresh air into my lungs INSTEAD OF "I will quit smoking.". Rule 10 - Affirm Activity. Include action in your affirmation - "I happily study and easily retain all information for my French test." |
